I believe that is Aboriginal Land up that way, and like Arnhem land or what not you need Permits..? Other wise you only allowed to go where the spots for hunting are

mate if its where im thinking about.... you just go through the open gates.... been going down there for years to no crab creek.... becoz it used to be a prison farm it is crown land but there is noone ever there to stop you from going through there..... and anyways i got approached by the so called T/O of the place, reckons his shit dont stink mate.... anyways he told me this place i was in was a sacred site and all.... anyways i asked him for proof and he said something like i quote 'i have the papers in my car but theyre for my eyes only' so then i told him he was a tosser and everything....they think they own everything out there and the truth is that they dont.... only select few places that arent even signposted looked it up on the net.... i just tell the @%#$ to stick it..... they cant do anything except if your on koolpinyah.... and then depends on what youre doing (ie hunting or hooning around on quads) that they do a lot to you.... just look at the shoal bay coastal reserve site here for info http://www.nt.gov.au/nreta/parks/find/s ... .html#..... Cheers Eddie

My father worked at the Gunn point prison for 15 years while it was operational. I spent alot of my younger days at the farm cruising around in the bull catchers having fun !. It's now vacated and slowly being burnt and smashed by wan$ers. The tip of the point is accessable two ways. 1 through the main gate to the old prison tuck shop and turn right then follow all the way to the point or 2. Follow the signs past the main gate to the Sth Alligator ramp turn off then take a left behind the sign post and follow the fence line around the outside of the old cow paddock and it will eventually meet up with the track to the point. ( This way is 4x4 in mid wet season) The point once used to be a crab farm but that failed when just one croc got in and over a month period ate most of the profit closing it down. Try the tracks off to the left heading out to the point as they have great camping areas and theres a good creek on the way too. Theres a tidal creek at the tip thats good for a crab or fish too. Bit messy but still a good camping spot. Been told you can walk to the blue holes from there too but i've never tried. As eddie said just tell them to get fu#ked if they try to stop you. Its the caretakers fault the farm is distroyed anyway. Fu#king shame too as it had everything from veggies to chickens. Brick yard to wood chipping. Was one of the best correctional facilities in Australia.

Yeah my mate sam gray used to live there aswell and he showed me round.... allthough a young fella he knows his sh@% round there and showed me all of the tracks out that way..... its pretty good country out there.... if you want to head down to no crab creek its pretty overgrown atm but just push through..... i am down there a lot on my motobike and you would get a car down there but its pretty overgrown.... also a good spot to try is keep heading down gunn pt rd on your way to no crab creek turn off just before the water tank and it takes you to the creek rite up the end of the beach..... its a top creek.... pulled a few fish out of there over the years!!! eddie

P.S. - you forgot to mention the third way, which is the way i allways used to go.
