Hey Guys

This Question Is Bout My ARB COMPRESSOR. ( Big Model That Does Lockers And Inflates Tyres)

I Just Purchased It Brand New. And I Was Having A Look. And The Way i Want To Mount It nder My Tray Has Some Of The Fitting Facing Down. The Black End Cap Were The Air Fitting Goes Into It Faces Down And The Silver Canister Where the Locker Lines Go Into Face Inwards.

i Was Just Wonderin Can You Spin The Canister(were Locker Lines Go Into) So I Can Face Them Side Ways Sop They Run Level With My Underside Of My Tray. And ALso Wonderin Can The Black End Cap Were the Airline Fitting Plugs INto Can Be Spun Around So It Is Level With My Tray Like I Want The Locker Fittings.

i Guess This Question Is Directed At SIKKID And Ash. Since SIKKID Works With ARb And Ash Coz He Has Had So Many. But Any12 Feel Free If You Know Any Infomation Or Have Any Ideas.

Cheers Old Lux

Just loosen the bolts a bit mate and have a play, the inflator bit moves seperate to the locker lines. Pretty much everything on it can be repositioned by loosening the right bolts/screws.

I would look at mounting it in the cab if your going to be doing alot of mud or deep water. Mounting it under the tray will probably cause the same problems I was having when I had mine mounted up front in the engine bay.

X2 for in the cab, I have mine behind the driver's seat, I know they say they are made to handle the elements but why chance it.
It makes stuff all noise activating the locker, and you are out of the truck when pumping up tyres.

the 10mm at the end of the black cap is a long bolt that goes all the way through. if you loosen this, the black end cap can spin, and the silver manifold too. loosen the end bolt, position where you need the outlets, and re-tighten. do not over tighten as you will distort the O ring seals that are in between the sections.

i would mount inside the cab if you can.

there are also 2 allen key bolts (cap screws) on the blue alloy mount around the motor. if you loosen these two, you can spin the head and manifold around. this is useful in mounting the compressor flat. examples are when we mount them under front seats, and have the air outlet out the side under the seat. or you can have the air outlet pointing forwards under the seat so it makes it easy to connect the hose.

move the amp accross as much as you can, and mount the comrpessor upright next to it. the compressor has an extremely small foot print compared to any amplifier.

PS. where is lenyer? :D

I'm with everyone on mounting it in the cab. I have mine behind the rear seat, set in the most up right position I can get it. It's mounted right next to my jack and I have enough room for a 600w invertor next to it. From memory the wiring harnes was long enough for my dual cab. I just ran power in through the firewall and joined it just behind the drivers seat. The harness for the switch reaches the dash easily.
The ARB compressor would have to be the most versatile for mounting options.
Mounting it under a front seat would work as well but if you flood your Lux that's the first place to get wet.

Why do you reccomend an inside mount?
Is there a problem with a company mounted engine bay mount?
Are they not water proof?

I had problems with water and mud ingress using the factory engine bay mount plate but it was in holes that were nearing the bonent, proberly not something you need to worry about as you wouldnt be doing things like this with your granpa tyres. :D

you have a ute, make a mount on the headboard of your tray near the top and mount it there. Make a cover so it is protected. This is pretty central for inflating tyres and whatever else you use it for. There is no way i would ever mount it behind the seat. I store way to much stuff behind my seat as it is.

I do have have bonnet deep water ingress on the rare occasion.
I shit myself when it happens but I also shit myself when a company mounted compressor rusts itself solid from normal use.
